About Myself

For more than a decade, I’ve been refining my graphic design and marketing expertise. I enjoy working with print media and have designed all types of things, including printed mail, direct advertisements, billboards, coffee packaging, die-cuts, brochures, websites, and logos for institutions, nonprofits, corporations, and small businesses.

I’ve always felt passionate about art and visual communication. The intersection between creator and creation fascinates me. Designs are cultural products that shouldn’t be separated from the culture that created them. Creating designs allows me to engage with society and culture in a meaningful way. It also empowers me to elevate individuals and businesses to engage with that culture.

STAYING “ON TREND”

I often see designers chasing trends to get a few more moments in the limelight. While staying knowledgeable on trends is extraordinarily important, they don’t exist in a vacuum.

Humans are brilliant, complicated creatures—we don’t follow ideas and concepts like lemmings. Trends enter and exit the cultural zeitgeist because they appeal to us in some way. As a designer, you gain more insight from understanding why these trends exist and who they appeal to.

OUTSIDE OF WORK

Outside of work, I try to fill my downtime outside. I am an avid hiker, and I love to camp, mountain bike, fish and kayak. Once the trail ends, or it’s time to clean up the site I typically hop onto a dual-sport to keep the fresh air on my face.
